Recently, the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination received the last batch of trademark registration certificates for Shanghai Expo emblem, which indicates the trademark registration work for the emblem has been totally finished in China Mainland. The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination has acquired 45 trademark registration certificates for the emblem which cover all the categories of goods and services.
Till now, Expo 2010 Shanghai China emblem has been applied for trademark registrations in 39 countries and regions. Besides China Mainland, the emblem has been registered in Russia, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Macau for all the categories of commodities and services.
Thus, Expo 2010 Shanghai China emblem was not only protected as copyright and the exclusive right of World Expo sign, but protected as trademark right, which is propitious to raise the level of the integrated development and operation of Shanghai Expo and intensify the protection of intellectual property rights at Shanghai Expo.
